This time around we as tees were free to drive our own creative direction as long as we tied in through color. I was inspired by the “Fresh Grown” graphic from Nike’s early heydays in the 1970s and thought the concept synced well with recent re-releases of heritage models such as the Daybreak shoe. Kimberly is a freelance fashion and lifestyle photographer as well as tenured gallery artist based in New Orleans. Her work focuses on capturing the soul of the community and core of NOLA culture. When they contacted me to create a mark I knew I wanted to work in some form of the ∞ sign; by turning the S on it’s side this replicated the infinity sign suggesting a repetition. The three R’s known in the sustainability world are Recycle, Reduce, Reuse. I wanted to create a version of this within the design language, so I came up with Replicate, Rotate and Revolve; and this led to the repetitive S letters which revolve around the swoosh pinwheel which is used at Nike to represent sustainable product.
